TORONTO (Reuters) - Time is ticking for Inco Ltd. <A HREF="http://go.reuters.co.uk/financeQuoteLookup.jhtml?ticker=N.TO&qtype=sym&infotype=info&qcat=news">N.TO</A> and Phelps Dodge Corp. <A HREF="http://go.reuters.co.uk/financeQuoteLookup.jhtml?ticker=PD.N&qtype=sym&infotype=info&qcat=news">PD.N</A> to decide whether they will raise their takeover bid for Falconbridge Ltd. <A HREF="http://go.reuters.co.uk/financeQuoteLookup.jhtml?ticker=FAL.TO&qtype=sym&infotype=info&qcat=news">FAL.TO</A>, one day after Xstrata <A HREF="http://go.reuters.co.uk/financeQuoteLookup.jhtml?ticker=XTA.L&qtype=sym&infotype=info&qcat=news">XTA.L</A> upped its own bid for the Canadian copper and nickel miner.
